Care Instructions for ceramic tile and grout.

Ceramic Tile and Grout.

Why should you seal your ceramic and porcelain tile? The simple answer is that you seal tile for many of the same reasons you would seal stone and glass—the protective, non-stick barrier makes cleaning fast and easy. Sealing your grout is another matter however. Grout is the most porous surface in your home and easily absorbs dirt and stains leading to permanent damage. Grout should always be sealed at the earliest opportunity.

Ceramic and porcelain tile are often used in showers. Diamond Seal will  protect your porcelain and ceramic tile from the same type of water mineral build up and soap scum you see on your shower glass. After all, your tile and grout will be exposed to the same water. When sealed, your tile will be much easier to clean.

Use Diamond Seal Cleaner and Revitalizer or some other mild cleaners on your sealed porcelain bath fixtures and tile. Avoid using products that are highly abrasive (Ajax, Comet, Bon Ami etc. or acidic like Tilex, CLR etc.). Read the label on the cleaners you are using. If you have a cleaning service, it is a good idea to set out the products you want them to use.
